Michelle and Jonathan’s Cork city wedding

Michelle and Jonathan travelled over from Singapore and were married in Cork registry office on a sunny November day. I spent a short time with them during the ceremony and briefly afterwards taking in some of the nearby landmarks. The low sun made for interesting photos and getting to work so close to city centre was a bonus. Thanks to Michelle and Jonathan for having me along on their big day.

Colour Test

Just did the Farnsworth Munsell color test and scored a perfect zero. Scores can be in the hundreds and only 10% of people score under 12. Very important for a photographer to be able to discriminate colour differences so nice to have some data to back up your career choice ūüôā Check out the Xrite.com if you want to try it yourself.

Theresa and Kens wedding in UCC and Fota Island Resort

The fantastic weather came out of nowhere for this late September wedding. It was really fun to photograph on the grounds of UCC in the sunshine and then later near the club house in Fota.¬† As always it was a pleasure to work in Fota Island resort and the staff were brilliant. Thanks to Ken and Theresa for having us along…hope you like the images.

Deirdre and Davids Wedding in Alvor, Portugal

There were so many elements to this wedding that made it a fantastic day. The Portugese weather, ambience and delicious seafood definitely helped. All the guests seemed to embrace the opportunity to kick back and enjoy some sunshine and the wedding celebrations. Deirdre and David’s easy and friendly manner created a great atmosphere. The urban (church) and more rural (reception) settings were a nice mix.¬† The meal (too many courses to count!) and lively entertainment were the perfect end to the day. I should mention the wedding planners who were fantastic i.e. Paula of Algarve Wedding Planners and the band […]

Trina and Liam, Skibbereen – West Cork Hotel

Really enjoyed photographing Trina and Liams wedding. Great couple to work with.¬† After the ceremony we went to Lough Hyne, the sun came out, the rain held off and we managed to capture some cool images with the sun shining through the trees, hope you like them! The West Cork Hotel was brilliant, i.e. plenty of natural light, interesting features (which we used in some of the photographs) and the staff couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful. Looking forward to photographing more weddings in Skibbereen and the West Cork Hotel.

Laura and Kevins Wedding Achnagairn House, Inverness Scotland

We travelled over to Inverness, Scotland at the end of August to photograph Laura and Kevins wedding. It was my second time there having gone over in March to scout out the venue and locality. Its a beautiful house and the piece de resistance is the very atmospheric banquet hall where the Humanist ceremony and meal were held.¬† The forecast was very bad but not for the first time they (weather people) got it completely wrong. The sun shone brightly for the day and the temperature was very pleasant, especially considering how far north we were. Laura and Kevin live […]

Model Shoot in Bristol

I flew to Blistol this week to do a course with Damien Lovegrove.  I like Damiens practical approach to lighting so I didnt mind the extra hassle of having to head across the pond. Outdoor off camera flash was the brief. It was an overcast day but you can see from the images that any kind of light can be created when you are using flash.

Sunday Morning In London… a few pics

To view this post please visit the old SOSAC Photography blog. I dropped over to London a few weeks ago for a brief visit. On Sunday morning I went out for a stroll with the camera. After a quick visit to the city centre I headed east to the Spitalfields, Shoreditch & Brick Lane area. It was a grey overcast day that just seemed the perfect light for seeing this part of the city. Such an eclectic, multi ethnic, multicultural vibrant place and yet uniquely London. You couldnt help but fall in love with¬†the city¬†having visited this eastern enclave. If […]

New advertising campaign from FCUK : ‘I AM MAN?’ , ‘I am woman’

FCUK’s new advertising campaign looks great imo. Really eye catching images with slightly obscure slogans. On a recent trip to London it seemed that everyone in the tube stations stopped to look at them, a sure sign of an effective campaign. http://www.frenchconnection.com/content/campaign/index.htm
