We travelled over to Inverness, Scotland at the end of August to photograph Laura and Kevins wedding. It was my second time there having gone over in March to scout out the venue and locality. Its a beautiful house and the piece de resistance is the very atmospheric banquet hall where the Humanist ceremony and meal were held. The forecast was very bad but not for the first time they (weather people) got it completely wrong. The sun shone brightly for the day and the temperature was very pleasant, especially considering how far north we were. Laura and Kevin live life to the extreme (one example would be Lauras feat of running consecutive marathons across the Atacama desert!) and have a joie de vivre (second French phrase – this is a very fancy post), which was reflected in the wedding . They pulled out all the stops and even had Opera singing waiters during the meal. The best men (there were two of them – twins) added a surreal touch to proceedings by aptly donning Jedward masks during their speech.Great day, great night and hopefully these photos will help keep the memories alive.
Finally, a piece of advice – If you ever have the good fortune to attend a wedding in Scotland, be careful where you point the camera when there are lots of merry men in Kilts!
