WHERE I'M COMING FROM

Good question. Some people thought me mad switching from the science of chemical engineering to the art of wedding photography. But after travelling the world and capturing a host of unique characters on camera, I decided if I was going to spend the rest of my life engineering anything, I would like it to be people’s stories. And I think I made the right decision. After 8 years, I still feel privileged to be witness to so many meaningful, powerful moments in people’s lives. When I capture an unfiltered expression of pure joy or the most genuine embrace, it’s so rewarding, a constant reminder of what’s really important in life. I hope to continue doing what I love and, with you, record a collection of images that will authentically reflect your unique relationship. SOSAC Photography is me, Shane O’ Sullivan, and my wife, Adele O’ Sullivan. I’m the photographer. Adele is the behind-the-scenes, creating beautifully designed wedding albums and anything else we can think of to make your experience one you’ll always cherish. After living in Cork for almost 20 years, we recently moved back to our hometown of Dungarvan, Co. Waterford, to raise our two gorgeous boys, Finn & Rían. We like to think of ourselves as fairly down to earth, low-key, easy-going people. We hope you’ll think that too.

      YOUR BIG DAY, MY APPROACH

Life moves way too quickly. Photography, at it’s most powerful, can ensure it doesn’t pass us by. By capturing and preserving a moment in time, it can forever more remind us of how it felt to be the in that place at that time. The unique atmosphere, the emotions we experienced and the love we felt. A vivid reminder that life is precious and we should slow down and take time to enjoy it.
Your wedding day, the day on which the two of you have decided to publicly declare each other as being the one, will be full of these moments – which is where I come in recording laughs, hugs, spills, tears, kisses and so much more so that these moments are never lost in time.
The enjoyment of your wedding day is my priority. In other words, I want to make sure the best day of your life is actually the best day of your life. So I won’t make things complicated, I won’t turn it into a big production and I won’t be pulling you away from your family, friends and everyone else important to you. The more time you spend enjoying each other’s company, the more authentic the memories I create for you will be. Okay, sure, we might sneak away for some portraits, but you won’t be gone long. And believe me, having experienced the big day for myself, you’ll relish that little bit of just-the-two-of-you time.
Looking through our work you might be wondering if images like these will be captured at your wedding. Will there be images that remind you of the giddy excitement when you first see each other or the fleeting grasp of hands between a little girl and a great grandmother meeting for the first and, who knows, maybe the only time. There are so many magic moments that will occur on your wedding day, I want to give you the proof. I want to be your all seeing eyes so that none of those split-seconds are ever forgotten.
