We set off for Burma (Myanmar) on the first day of 2014. The trip was a sort of forced exile from the office. A chance for us to wander, explore, let our hair down (or shave it off in my case!) and see another part of Asia.
It’s a fascinating country with a chequered often tragic history. In spite of that the Burmese are the friendliest, most welcoming, positive people. We stayed for a month, travelling at a fairly relaxed pace getting from A to B by taxi and the occasional trek. Even though tourism is relatively new in Burma, Bagan and Inle Lake are on their way to becoming major tourist destinations. Its no surprise as they are both incredibly beautiful places.
Afterwards we went to Thailand for two weeks, chilled out, fully recharged the batteries for the busy 2014 season! Hope you like the photos we captured along the way – Shane
