DUBLIN CITY HALL & WESTBURY HOTEL WEDDING – A & É

A Dublin Love story.

Some love stories have a great opening line, and Aisling and Éamonn’s is hard to beat. Two Irish people meeting at a Frank Ocean concert in New York. With around 140 guests and a vision that was elegant, fun, and warm, they chose to celebrate entirely in the heart of their city. Getting ready across two of Dublin’s most stylish hotels, marrying in the breathtaking surroundings of Dublin City Hall, and finishing the evening at The Westbury. The morning began at The Westbury, where Aisling and her bridesmaids got ready. Every detail had been considered — stunning florals by The Garden, and a dress from The One by Sinead Corcoran that was entirely in keeping with the chic, design-led aesthetic Aisling had brought to every element of the day. The moment Aisling’s dad saw her for the first time — that quiet, wordless first look — was one of those images that says everything without needing a caption. Meanwhile, Eamonn and the groomsmen were getting spruced up over at The Dean on Harcourt Street. Eamonn in black tie from Louis Copeland.

Dublin City Hall

Dublin City Hall is one of those rare venues that photographs superbly from every angle. Its sweeping dome, marble columns, and grand staircase give every ceremony a real sense of occasion — and Aisling and Eamonn’s ceremony absolutely lived up to the setting. The ceremony was accompanied by music from friends of the couple — a beautiful, personal touch from a couple with a deep love of music. Both mums lighting the candles together was one of the most tender moments of the day, and the bridesmaids didn’t hold it together for long either.

The Westbury Hotel

After that it was over to the Westbury hotel. The Westbury’s elegant interiors suited Aisling and Eamonn’s aesthetic down to the ground, with The Garden’s floral arrangements adding warmth and colour throughout. By the time the band took over and the DJ kept the floor alive into the night, the room had the kind of energy that only comes from a group of people who genuinely love the couple at the centre of it all. A wedding cake made by a close friend was a lovely personal touch in a day full of them.

What struck me most about photographing Aisling and Eamonn’s wedding day was how intentional every detail was. And yet how relaxed and joyful the whole day felt. They knew what they wanted — chic, elegant, full of good people and great music — and they pulled it off completely. Dublin City Hall and The Westbury were the perfect venues for a couple who love their city and know how to throw a proper celebration. Planning a wedding in Dublin city and looking for a photographer who’ll capture every real moment — from the first look to the last dance? We’d love to hear from you.
